Job summary

RPO Recruitment's client, a well-established Electrical Consulting Engineering firm in Durban, seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead delivery of large-scale electrical projects from inception through completion. You will oversee contractors, coordinate teams and ensure safety, quality, and timely execution.

The ideal candidate has extensive construction management experience on major electrical infrastructure projects, including High Mast Lighting, MV/LV, and solar energy

Qualifications

• Experience in High Mast Lighting design and construction management.
• Experience on MV and LV electrical projects.
• Experience in solar energy design and implementation.
• Construction management and contract administration.
• Structural assessments.
• Proficient project planning and scheduling using MS Project.
• Experience managing projects > R25 million.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction and delivery of electrical projects from inception to completion.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional with extensive construction management experience on large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the construction and successful delivery of electrical engineering projects from inception through to completion.
• Oversee contractors and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate project teams, consultants, contractors and clients throughout the construction phase.
• Monitor project programmes, budgets, progress and reporting.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance during construction.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality management procedures.

Requirements

• High Mast Lighting design and construction management.
• Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical projects.
• Solar energy design and implementation projects.
• Construction management and contract administration.
• Structural assessments.
• Project planning and scheduling using MS Project.
• Experience managing projects with a construction value exceeding R25 million.
