Job summary

SEGULA Technologies South Africa is seeking two Electrical CAD Engineers specialising in Electrical Harness & Integration (EHI) to support an engineering project in Gauteng. CATIA experience is mandatory and essential for the role.

The engineers will design electrical harnesses, routing, integration and related schematics, working closely with mechanical and systems teams. Candidates should have 3+ years in harness design and electrical integration, with proven CATIA expertise and attention

• Proven professional CATIA experience is mandatory.

About The Role

SEGULA Technologies South Africa is looking for two experienced Electrical CAD

SEGULA Technologies South Africa is looking for two experienced Electrical CAD Engineers specialising in Electrical Harness & Integration (EHI) to support an engineering project in Gauteng. The role focuses on electrical design, harness and cabling routing, electrical integration and associated engineering documentation, working closely with mechanical, systems, manufacturing and other engineering disciplines. CATIA experience is a mandatory requirement for this position. Candidates without proven professional CATIA experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical harnesses and cabling installations using CATIA.
• Develop and modify electrical harness routing and integration solutions.
• Produce and maintain electrical schematics, harness drawings, cabling/routing drawings and associated engineering documentation.
• Define and integrate harness routing, connectors, interfaces, supports and installation requirements.
• Ensure appropriate electrical integration within the overall product architecture.
• Coordinate electrical routing with mechanical structures, equipment and other physical interfaces.
• Identify and resolve clashes and integration issues.
• Work closely with mechanical CAD, systems, manufacturing and industrialisation teams.
• Review and update engineering documentation following design or configuration changes.
• Participate in design reviews and technical integration meetings.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable, installable and maintainable.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, customer requirements and project specifications.
• Support technical problem-solving during design, integration and manufacturing.

Mandatory Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum approximately 3 years of relevant experience in cabling routing and design and/or electrical integration, consistent with the SEGULA role specification.
• Proven professional experience using CATIA is mandatory.
• Practical experience in electrical harness design, cabling routing and electrical integration.
• Experience working with electrical schematics and associated engineering documentation.
• Good understanding of electrical interfaces, connectors, routing constraints and installation requirements.
• Ability to integrate electrical installations with mechanical components and structures.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving capability.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Advantageous Experience

• Previous railway-sector experience is strongly preferred, Automotive, aerospace or

Other Transportation‑sector Electrical Integration Experience

• Experience working on complex products with significant electrical/mechanical integration.

Contract & Availability

This is a fixed-term project assignment for an initial period of approximately 6–8 months, based in Gauteng. Candidates should be available immediately or at short notice. Please note: CATIA experience is mandatory. Candidates experienced only in AutoCAD, Creo or other CAD platforms without practical CATIA experience will not be considered.
