A well-established organisation in Bloemfontein is seeking a qualified, experienced, and technically competent ELConop 3 to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical installation, maintenance, testing, fault-finding, and repair work across domestic, commercial, and industrial environments.
The ELConop 3 will be required to work independently while also providing technical support and guidance where necessary. The successful candidate must be able to perform the duties associated with an ELConop 1 and ELConop 2 when operationally required and must be fully equipped with the necessary tools to perform the work effectively.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Qualified electrician with a recognised Trade Test / Red Seal Electrician qualification or equivalent
- Valid electrician's licence/certification, where applicable
- Approximately 3–5 years' relevant working experience in electrical construction, installation, maintenance, or a related environment
- Practical experience in domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical installations
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical installation, wiring, testing, maintenance, and fault-finding
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Computer literacy will be an advantage
- Clean and valid driver’s licence
- Must be fully equipped with the necessary tools required to perform the duties of the position
- Ability and willingness to perform the work associated with ELConop 1 and ELConop 2 when required
- Ability to work independently and under pressure

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Installation and Wiring
- Perform electrical installation, wiring, maintenance, and repair work in domestic, commercial, and industrial environments.
- Install and connect electrical equipment and systems in accordance with approved plans, specifications, procedures, and applicable standards.
- Place and draw conductors into wireways and connect lighting systems, cookers, water heaters, and low-voltage systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical distribution systems and associated equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, plans, and technical documentation.
- Ensure electrical installations are completed accurately, safely, and to the required standard.
Testing and Fault Finding
- Conduct electrical testing on single-phase and multi-phase electrical systems
- Conduct tests on electrical installations under the supervision of a registered person, where required
- Perform electrical fault finding, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Identify defective, unsafe, or non-compliant electrical installations and equipment
- Inspect and remove illegal or unsafe electrical connections within electricity generation and distribution areas in accordance with approved procedures
- Record and report faults, defects, unsafe conditions, and maintenance requirements
Team Support and Supervision
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to other electrical personnel when required
- Supervise and lead a team of electricians on-site where assigned
- Ensure that work allocated to team members is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard
- Assist with the duties normally performed by an ELConop 1 or ELConop 2 when required by operational circumstances
- Perform any other reasonable electrical, maintenance, construction, and operational duties as required
Remuneration
R89.00 per hour
Working Hours and Overtime
- Normal working hours are 8.5 hours per day, 07:30–17:00.
- Overtime may be required from time to time based on operational requirements.
- Any authorised overtime worked will be compensated accordingly.
Probation and Registration
- The position is subject to a three-month probation period.
- Upon successful completion of the probation period, employees will be registered with the NBCEI, where applicable.
