How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop and implement health and safety plans in accordance with legal guidelines and client specifications.
- Establish and enforce policies to develop a culture of health and safety.
- Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and compliance with the law.
- Conduct training sessions and presentations on health and safety matters, focusing on accident prevention.
- Supervise policy and legal compliance by inspecting employees and operations.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to identify possible unsafe conditions.
- Investigate accidents or incidents to resolve causes and report findings to the head office.
- Lead contractor compliance with legal and client specifications regarding environmental, health, and safety regulations.
What you bring?
- Expertise in crafting, developing, and leading the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) aspects of the business unit and customer projects, in line with Siemens Energy standards, customer requirements, and legal obligations.
- A tertiary qualification related to the SHE industry.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in SHE management, specifically in medium to large projects.
- Previous experience in control and instrumentation projects, preferably in the power plant industry.
- Environmental, health, and safety qualifications.
- ISO certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
- Registration in South Africa as required under Section 18(1)(c) of the Project and Construction Management Professions Act, Act 48 of 2000 (SACPCMP).
