Responsibilities

What we’re looking for :

We are seeking a Temporary EHS Coordinator to join our team. Responsibilities include maintaining the EHS management system (GEHSMS – ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001), ensuring compliance with regulations, managing document control, generating reports, and coordinating EHS action programs for the site.

Accountabilities

  • Scheduling SHE Committee meetings at Prospecton – Manufacturing & Warehousing
  • Co-ordinate monthly & annual EHS Steering Group meetings and collate necessary information for review by the senior team
  • Compiling meeting minutes and maintaining records for future reference
  • Updating and maintaining the EHS action tracker on MyEHS system (Near misses, BBS, incident reports, non-conformance reports, risk assessments)
  • Following up on occupational health claims, ensuring documentation is received and filed
  • Driving GEHSMS agenda, managing action plans, supporting the GEHSMS program
  • Loading evidence of compliance tasks on MyEHS
  • Purchasing and issuing PPE and safety supplies
  • Communicating with suppliers such as Clinic, Enviroserv, Fidelity, etc.
  • Coordinating and maintaining training records and schedules
  • Assisting in emergency drills
  • Reviewing policies and procedures, managing document control and communication of updates
  • Proper storage and filing of controlled documents in compliance with internal and statutory requirements
  • Planning and facilitating EHS inductions and trainings
  • Managing contractor safety
  • Contributing to EHS AOP achievement, including incident, waste, and KPI management
  • Ensuring compliance with wastewater treatment and waste management areas
  • Participating in risk assessments and closing actions
  • Supporting sustainability initiatives and EHS campaigns
  • Maintaining visual EHS awareness around the site

Qualifications

What will qualify you for the role

  • Matric
  • 3-year qualification in Safety or Environmental Management or equivalent
  • Knowledge of legal and working requirements (Risk Assessment, OSH Act, COID Act, relevant environmental legislation)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
