Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking an EHS professional at the Brito’s Plant in Gqeberha to support the EHS Site Manager in safeguarding employee safety and ensuring compliance with the OHS Act and PepsiCo standards. You will coordinate committees, maintain records, and drive risk reduction initiatives across manufacturing and warehousing.

You will review risk assessments, manage training, and lead emergency drills while ensuring statutory compliance and documentation retention.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 plus a 3-year Diploma in EHS-related field.
• ISO 14001 implementation and/or auditing.
• Safety management competencies across sites and operations.
• 5 years in FMCG either in engineering or production, or EHS role.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage EHS Committee meetings at Brito’s Plant – Manufacturing & Warehousing.
• Conduct monthly & annual EHS Steering Group meetings with the senior team.
• Maintain EHS records, minutes, and action trackers for incidents and audits.
• Ensure near-miss reporting and timely action plans across the plant.
• Review and maintain Risk Assessments and action plans.
• Ensure compliance with the COIDA Act and training records.
• Maintain training matrix and conduct follow-up training as scheduled.
• Manage GEHSMS program and plan emergency drills.
• Ensure document retention and compliance with internal and statutory requirements.
• Drive sustainability initiatives and awareness campaigns for the site.
