Job Description

The role involves planning, managing, and directing Cisco platforms that provide company technologies, systems, and processes to customers, enabling them to gain a competitive advantage.

The candidate will manage client relationships at a senior management level, negotiate with clients, and ensure project delivery by directing activities of Specialist Engineers.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
  1. Manage changes by reviewing designs and responding to optimization requests.
  2. Monitor and control the network to ensure daily stability.
  3. Handle problems and support functions.
  4. Research and assess new technologies and customer needs.
  5. Monitor service levels and contribute to developing standards and specifications.
  6. Test systems and maintain records of network design, implementation plans, and capital projects.
  7. Support users and support staff.
  8. Attend to IMACD activities (Installation, Modification, Addition, Change, Delete).
  9. Provide Network Administration and Support.
  10. Integrate System High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), Root Cause Analyses (RCA), Deployment Guides, and Service Designs.
  11. Evaluate Product Roadmaps and provide input to strategy, aligning with best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

NQF Level 6: 3-year Degree / Diploma / National Diploma in Information Technology OR NQF Level 4: Grade 12

Additional Education - Preferred / Advantage

Experience: 10+ years in network engineering, including at least 2 years at a senior level. Alternatively, 8 to 10 years with 2 to 3 years at a senior management level.

Certifications: Preferred / Advantageous Certifications such as HCIE. Professional Memberships in Relevant Industry.

Level of Engagement & Span of Control

Direct interaction with internal and external clients.
