Job Opportunity: Accountant

Join a team dedicated to making business funding accessible in South Africa. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Accountant to handle comprehensive accounting duties, proficient in Pastel.

Key Qualifications:

• B Com Accounting Degree and Honours, professionally registered
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an accounting or audit firm
• Proficient in Pastel Accounting software
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Sound knowledge of debtors and creditors processes
• Basic HR knowledge
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

• Manage financial and statutory compliance across multiple entities
• Reconcile expenses, bill customers, and maintain accounting records in Pastel
• Process payroll monthly, including PAYE and UIF via Sage Payroll
• Handle tax reconciliations and maintain compliance certificates
• Complete statutory compliance tasks such as BEE certificates and CIPC returns
• Prepare financial reports, manage budgets, and handle VAT and tax submissions
• Process payments and prepare for audits
• Present financial reports in management meetings

Additional Details:

The salary range is approximately R30k - R40k CTC per month, with the final offer based on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, mid-senior level position in the accounting and finance industry.
