Strategic Maintenance Manager Position - West Rand - Tarlton
The Strategic Maintenance Manager will be responsible for developing and managing budgets, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Workshop, and playing a key role in developing and implementing long-term strategies.
The Strategic Maintenance Manager will review Workshop workflows, identify strengths, weaknesses, operational effectiveness, and opportunities, and make recommendations based on internal and external factors to minimize risks and achieve the organization's long-term goals.
This role also involves developing and maintaining relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Workshop.
- Translate strategic plans into operational activities.
- Draft and implement performance standards for the Workshop.
- Create processes to ensure smooth and efficient Workshop operations.
- Align departmental goals with organizational strategy.
- Assess supply chain vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
- Analyze operational data and suggest enhancements.
- Research and analyze operational effectiveness, processes, and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement operational plans, including decisions on locations, budgets, staffing, and timelines.
- Manage budgets for operational activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.
- Evaluate and improve current processes for efficiency.
- Assess employee performance and provide feedback.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
- Implement new technologies and systems to streamline operations.
- Support analytical efforts for better decision-making.
- Manage and motivate the operations team.
- Monitor KPIs and develop performance metrics.

Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in data analytics and operational strategy development.
- Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Project Management, Development Studies, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced Excel skills; SQL knowledge is a plus.
- Proven ability to answer unstructured business questions and independently drive projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Track record of leading initiatives and achieving goals in a fast-paced environment.
