Our client, in the hospitality industry and based in Sandton JHB, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper to join their finance team.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of the full accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient bookkeeping practices.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full accounting function, including general ledger, journals, and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Handle VAT calculations and submissions
• Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, payroll, and bank transactions
• Perform monthly payroll processing and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
• Oversee debtors and creditors reconciliations
• Assist with budget preparation and cash flow forecasting
• Support external audit processes and liaise with auditors
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Bookkeeping / Finance
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in hospitality industry
• Proficient in accounting software Sage
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
