Food and Beverage Manager Luxury Safari Camp Greater Hoedspruit

Live-In Position Salary: Negotiable DOE

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Manager for a prestigious luxury safari camp located in Mpumalanga. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate and skilled hospitality professional to join a world-class team in a breathtaking Big 5 safari setting. The successful candidate will oversee the full F&B operation, ensuring an exceptional dining experience that complements the camp's premium guest offering.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily operations of the food and beverage department across all outlets.
  2. Manage and lead F&B service teams to deliver five-star guest experiences.
  3. Maintain the highest standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and service.
  4. Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage budgets and cost controls.
  5. Work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to ensure menu consistency and alignment with guest expectations.
  6. Train and develop service staff, implementing ongoing coaching to maintain service excellence.
  7. Ensure all hygiene, health, and safety regulations are adhered to in all F&B areas.
  8. Host guests during meals and contribute to an exceptional dining atmosphere.
  9. Handle guest feedback and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
  10. Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  11. Manage wine cellar and beverage stock, including selections and pairings.
  12. Collaborate with the management team on guest experience enhancements and special events.

Requirements:

  1. A formal qualification in hospitality, food, and beverage management or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar role, preferably within a luxury lodge or 5-star hospitality environment.
  3. Proven leadership experience with a hands-on management style.
  4. Strong financial and stock management skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Proficient in F&B software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  8. Passionate about hospitality and guest experience.
  9. Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of professionalism.
  10. Creative thinker with the ability to innovate and elevate guest offerings.
  11. Able to work under pressure in a remote bush environment.
  12. Flexible, proactive, solutions-driven, with a strong team spirit.
