Job description

Applications are invited for the following permanent position commencing in September 2025.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  1. Applicants should :
  2. hold a Bachelor's degree in Dramatic Arts and a recognised teaching qualification
  3. be registered with SACE
  4. be fully qualified to teach Dramatic Arts (Grades 8 to 12)
  5. have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar teaching position
  6. understand current best practices in education and Dramatic Arts
  7. have experience in independent education up to Grade 12 level and with the IEB curriculum
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
  1. bring creativity, confidence, and a deep understanding of theatre to the classroom
  2. have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with parents, staff, and students
  3. be driven to achieve the best results possible for students
  4. possess a willingness to contribute to the school's extra-curricular programme and school productions
  5. possess knowledge of using ICT to enhance teaching
  6. support the Catholic ethos of the school
  7. commit to the school’s transformation, equity, and belonging strategic objectives in support of an equitable, inclusive, and safe school environment for all
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. teach Drama according to the IEB curriculum guidelines
  2. guide students through script work to stage production
  3. lead students in exploring the world of Dramatic Arts, performance, and storytelling
  4. create appropriate teaching materials and resources
  5. be responsible for all duties as required of a teacher
  6. incorporate the school’s values into daily teaching
  7. remain abreast of developments and best practices in teaching and Drama
