This role involves overseeing the construction of reinforced concrete structures within the bulk water system, such as reservoirs, break pressure tanks, and valve chambers.
The Site Agent will manage all structural works on-site, ensuring quality, safety, and coordination with adjacent systems.
What You'll Do
- Manage on-site construction activities, coordinate teams, and resolve issues in real time.
- Supervise construction of reinforced concrete structures including reservoirs, chambers, and related infrastructure.
- Oversee material supply, site preparation, formwork, rebar installation, concrete pouring, and curing to meet specifications and timelines.
- Coordinate installation of electrical and control systems, ensuring proper power supply and instrumentation.
- Ensure integration with adjoining facilities such as pipelines and pump stations.
- Implement and maintain site safety protocols; conduct safety briefings and hazard assessments.
- Act as liaison with design consultants, engineers, and project owners; address design and site instructions.
- Engage with local stakeholders to manage disruptions and foster good relationships.
- Document and archive construction progress, compliance, quality assurance, and safety reports.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 10 years' experience in constructing reinforced concrete structures for bulk water systems.
- Qualification in a relevant trade or a diploma/degree (NQF Level 6 or equivalent) in Construction Management or Engineering. Foreign qualifications must be SAQA-accredited.
- Registration with ECSA or SACPCMP is advantageous.
- Proven ability to manage structural works with technical accuracy and within timelines.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors on large infrastructure projects.
- Solid knowledge of concrete design, formwork, rebar detailing, and quality assurance practices.
- Willingness to work on-site in Limpopo for the project duration.
