Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity for a Trainee Manager to support their Gauteng stores. The role involves learning overall store operations under the supervision of a store manager, performing retail operational duties, and supporting store management in various functions.

Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • 1-2 years' experience in retail management disciplines (stock management, cash handling, reporting, expense control, customer service)
  • Diploma in Financial/Admin or relevant 3-year diploma
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Willingness to work retail hours
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage stock processing, stock levels, and shrinkage control
  • Assist in stock ordering, promotional displays, and adherence to labeling and pricing standards
  • Participate in stock receiving, reconciliation, and sales target achievement
  • Support promotional activities and market trend analysis
  • Assist with financial tasks such as cash-ups, expense monitoring, and financial statement analysis
  • Ensure transaction integrity, customer service quality, and staff management
  • Support HR functions, including leave management, staff scheduling, and training
  • Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and compliance with policies
Competencies
  • Understanding of retail management disciplines
  • Strong communication, business acumen, and interpersonal skills
  • Basic financial knowledge (GP, VAT, markup)
  • Analytical skills and time management
