Summary:
- To support the divisions operations through the effective management, and maintenance of the Distribution Centre Warehousing Management Systems and all Business Process impacting the Distribution Centre. Ensure effective day to day support and delivery on the operational needs of the distribution centre.
FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
People (Performance & Development)
- To ensure that ongoing system and process training is conducted within all areas of responsibility in order to improve the skill and create capacity.
- To ensure a broad knowledge of system experience is managed.
Culture & Innovation
- To set and maintain acceptable levels of performance within all areas of responsibilities.
- To participate in the ongoing development of a performance measurement framework.
- To continuously seek for improvements that will compliment performance and productivity coupled with cost saving
Finance
- To operate within the Set Budgets and Forecasts of the division, to achieve maximum effectiveness with regards to systems and processes.
- To deliver on Systems & Processes that will reduce cost
Task Execution
- To ensure that the stock integrity is maintained as a result of effective system set up’s, and that ongoing monitoring of system set up’s are done in order to ensure that the integrity of stock is being maintained at all times.
- Daily validation of all scorecards in order to determine system related issues and challenges.
- Ensure that the relevant system set up in done in regards to new stores linked to the DC.
- Develop and implement accurate and streamlined processes to support the day-to-day operational demands of the division.
- Ensure root cause analysis of system challenges and employ the required fixes in conjunction with the Operations team, to ensure a streamlined and efficient warehousing system.
- Ensure the provision of efficient end-user support to the operational staff through adequately and competent staff.
- Manage and ensure efficient equipment and infrastructure support within the distribution centre.
- Ensure optimisation of the warehouse management system in all operational areas, to ensure streamlined and effective service delivery to both internal and external customers.
- UAT Business testing and Q & A of new processes
- Process Design on one best way
- Unpacking of current systems & process to determine improvements
- Participation in the International community on new developments compatible and viable for our market
- KAIZEN programme focus on improvements
- Project participation
- Implementation & execution of new systems & process
- Post Go Live and Pilot feedback
Requirements:
Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications and Experience required for this position
Qualifications:
- Matric/Grade 12
- Relevant tertiary qualification/Degree (Industrial Engineer or BCom Supply Chain)
Experience:
- SAP EWM / SAP WM and ERP experience would be essential
- Proven and solid Systems and Process experience would be essential
- A minimum of three to four years’ experience in a distribution and warehousing environment would be essential
- A minimum of two to three years managerial experience at middle level is essential
- Computer literacy would be advantageous
