Project Manager (Engineer) position available in Springs.

Our Client, the LEADER in Mining Equipment Manufacture and Field Service Management are HIRING NOW a PROJECT MANAGER , based at their Springs Factory but will travel to manufacturing facilities and operational field locations, an excellent top drawer Client.

The Project Manager is to oversee the end-to-end management of equipment builds and lead the field service teams that support our products in the field. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage both production and service teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Project & Equipment Build Management:

  • Plan, execute, and oversee equipment build projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Track project performance using KPIs and report progress to senior management.

Field Service & Aftermarket Support:

  • Oversee field service teams responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of equipment in the field.
  • Develop and implement service schedules, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
  • Provide guidance to field service engineers, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with clients to address concerns, improve service delivery, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and ensure efficient logistics for field service operations.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and service personnel.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to optimize project outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring transparency and alignment on project objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project management and service functions.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in mining, construction, industrial, or heavy equipment manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in managing equipment builds and overseeing field service teams.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in heavy machinery.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project or similar).
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites and customer locations as required.

Desirable:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional).
  • Experience in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems for project tracking and resource planning.
