About the role

Generation Success is excited to announce the opening for a Finance Officer.

This pivotal role is central to our financial strategy and operations, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to our long-term financial health and sustainability.

The ideal candidate will have a blend of exceptional accountancy skills, proven experience in overseeing diverse finance functions, and a passion for our mission of empowering young people.

Working hours: 9am - 5pm UK time

Note: Only full-time applicants will be considered as the role is not suitable for freelancers or third-party agents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement a long-term financial strategy in collaboration with the COO, aligning with our goals and mission. Contribute to the organization’s 3-year strategy and 5-year financial plan.
  • Financial Management and Reporting: Prepare and review monthly management accounts, end-of-year accounts, and performance reports, ensuring accuracy and transparency. Use tools like Zoho and QuickBooks.
  • Budget Management: Support senior management and budget holders in effective budget oversight and adherence to policies.
  • Tax and Compliance: Oversee tax reporting, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize tax positions.
  • Investor Relations and Fundraising: Provide financial data for investors, engage in fundraising, and identify funding opportunities, including grants.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance frameworks to meet standards and enhance governance.
  • Board Reporting: Prepare financial reports and analysis for board meetings, assisting understanding of financial implications.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks to ensure organizational resilience.
  • Systems and Processes: Oversee finance systems and processes, seeking continuous improvement.
Requirements

About you

  • UK accounting qualification (essential).
  • Significant experience in various finance areas, especially strategic planning, reporting, and management.
  • Project management skills, capable of coordinating and delivering results.
  • Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to present complex financial data to senior stakeholders, including the Board.
  • Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or investments is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and governance processes.
