About the role

The role will be responsible for testing raw materials and/or finished products and/or stability products according to material specifications.

To perform peer reviewing of analytical raw data to ensure testing has been completed as per material specifications and laboratory policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities
  1. Tests raw materials and/or finished products and/or stability products as per documented specifications and analytical methods.
  2. Analyzes a broad range of product types including API, excipient, tablets, capsules, sachets, and powder formulations.
  3. Performs analysis using wet chemical techniques and instrumental methods of analysis (HPLC, GC) as applicable.
  4. Reviews results for accuracy and reports any anomalies or deviations to Cell Lead(s) and/or Supervisor(s) or Laboratory Lead.
  5. Tests compliance samples of site systems (purified water, gases, steam, etc.) as per documented procedures.
  6. Ensures achievement of site objectives with respect to risk management and QMS.
  7. Performs peer reviewing of analytical raw data generated by other analysts on a rotational basis or as required by Cell Lead or Supervisor. Peer reviewing must be performed by an independent analyst who did not perform or was involved in the testing.
  8. Flexibility to be temporarily seconded to other process streams within laboratories once the required training has been completed.
  9. Ensures achievement of site objectives with respect to risk management and QMS.
Qualifications and skills

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification such as BSc (Chemistry) or National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry.
  • At least 2 years laboratory experience.
  • Experience in analyzing a broad range of product types.
  • Proficiency in wet chemical and instrumental analytical techniques.

Preferred

  • Testing experience in pharmaceutical laboratories is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP, QMS, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to think independently and organize responsibilities effectively.
