Regional Retail Risk and Security Advisor

Overview

A leading organisation is seeking a Regional Retail Risk and Security Advisor to lead security strategy and risk mitigation across their inland retail operations, including sites in multiple provinces of South Africa and across borders, for an 18-month contract.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct and lead risk assessments across service stations and terminals.
2. Develop and implement site-specific and regional security strategies.
3. Investigate incidents related to conflict of interest, theft, and fraud.
4. Advise on physical security infrastructure, including CCTV, safes, ATMs, and intrusion prevention.
5. Liaise with SAPS, private security firms, and branded marketers to coordinate risk response and training.
6. Develop security awareness programs for internal stakeholders and retail site staff.
7. Analyze geographic and operational risks to influence site design and business continuity planning.
8. Provide critical input on crisis management protocols and escalation processes.

Requirements

• A tertiary qualification in Security Management, Risk, Compliance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a relevant security leadership or advisory role.
• Experience in retail environments and managing ATM/CIT threats is highly desirable.
• Strong investigative capabilities with knowledge of forensic processes and internal audit principles.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A proactive, analytical mindset with a high tolerance for complex, high-pressure environments.
