Job description

Investec Sandton is looking for a Data Reporting Analyst who will be responsible for understanding and fulfilling the business data needs of Investec Client Operations and Financial Crime Compliance.

This role requires a working knowledge of Data Reporting, Analytics, and an understanding of IT.

Successful candidates will work closely with technical teams including Data Engineers, Azure DevOps team, Database Admins, and Infrastructure, as well as business teams including Operations and Compliance.

The candidate must display the following attributes critical for this role:

Responsibilities:

1. Script, build, and maintain client operations and financial crime data environments.
2. Design reports and dashboards.
3. Interpret data, analyze using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports and insights to the business.
4. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets with the ability to synthesize data into actionable information for decision-makers.
5. Build strong relationships within the bank to leverage capabilities.
6. Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

• Postgraduate degree preferably in Information Management, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or similar.
• 1-3 years' experience in an analytical/data environment.
• Experience with technologies such as Power BI, Transact SQL, Microsoft Excel, and Database knowledge.

Advantageous technical skills and knowledge:

• Python or R scripting.
• Reporting packages (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS).
• Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure.
• Client Information Management, AML, KYC, and Financial Crime knowledge.
