Purpose Statement
- To monitor and report on information security events.
- To identify and respond to information security incidents.
- To maintain and improve on the security monitoring systems and processes in the bank.
Experience
Min:
- 2 - 3 years' experience in a hands-on IT role that can include either: System administration/support; Network administration/support; Logical Access administration/support; Technical administration/support; or Software Development
Qualifications (Minimum)
- Certification in Network Security (e.g. Fortinet NSE4, CCNA, Security)
- Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
- Certification in Security Management or Information Security
Knowledge
Min:
Must have a good understanding of:
- Cyber threats and vulnerabilities
- Security Monitoring, event/alert and incident management processes
- Technical Security Controls (e.g. Firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, patch management, etc.)
- Fundamental security concepts (e.g. policy, encryption, access controls, audit trails, malware, threats)
- MS Windows server and workstation operating systems
- Windows Active Directory
Ideal:
- Studying towards earning the Security+ or SSCP certification
Skills
- Communications Skills
- Analytical Skills
- Interpersonal & Relationship management Skills
