Job description

We are seeking an experienced Finance Administrator / Bookkeeper to support the company Accountant with daily financial and administrative tasks. This is a full-time office-based role and requires at least two years of experience in a similar position. While formal qualifications are not necessary, a strong understanding of bookkeeping and VAT is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage Sales and Purchase Ledger, including producing and entering invoices.
  2. Process receipts and payments, and reconcile accounts.
  3. Allocate payments to invoices and ensure accurate financial records.
  4. Conduct annual renewal of self-billing agreements with suppliers.
  5. Oversee credit control to ensure timely payments.
  6. Maintain and update the Fixed Assets Register.
  7. Reconcile bank accounts and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
  8. Process company credit card expenses and maintain records.
  9. Respond to and resolve any finance-related queries.
Requirements
Key Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping and VAT.
  • Experience using Sage 50 Accounts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Confident telephone manner and strong communication skills.
  • Hardworking, adaptable, and reliable with a high level of initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • National Certificate in Bookkeeping (NQF Level 3 / 4 or equivalent) — practical experience considered if training will be provided.
  • Experience working with the UK financial market or within Europe.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Managing approximately 800 creditors, mostly processed through bulk payments (self-billing).
  • Handling creditors that are company entities (not private individuals).
  • Tracking and reconciling 4 company credit cards.
  • Performing bank reconciliations for 6 company accounts.
Salary

Maximum R18000 per month.
