Job Description: As a Legal Manager, you will support the Upstream business by providing expert legal advice on mining regulations, managing legal risks, and ensuring compliance across jurisdictions. Your role involves stakeholder engagement, legal strategy development, training, and managing external legal relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal services related to mining regulation, environmental law, water rights, and community engagement.
  2. Develop and implement legal support frameworks and strategies.
  3. Assess legal risks and advise on mitigation strategies.
  4. Manage external law firms and legal budgets.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams and senior leadership to align legal and business objectives.
  6. Drive training initiatives on mining regulation compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified legal practitioner/admitted attorney in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience as a regulatory lawyer, preferably in mining or environmental law.
  • Experience in leading legal teams, drafting complex legal documents, and stakeholder engagement.
