Job description

Associate Professional Services Consultant - Early Career Program
Role starts in March or September. Do you want to experiment with innovative technologies, including Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, and Internet of Things?

Are you passionate about educating, training, designing, and building enterprise cloud computing solutions for a diverse and challenging set of customers? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking recent graduates, early career professionals, and advanced career professionals with limited technical experience interested in jump-starting a career as an Associate Professional Services Consultant. Success in this role involves participating in the Professional Services Consultant Program or the Tech U program, depending on your specialization.

These programs focus on helping recent graduates and early career professionals develop technical and professional skills through cohort-based training and on-the-job experience. You will complete specialized curricula, shadow AWS experts, receive coaching, and prepare for AWS certifications such as the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.

During on-the-job training, you'll prepare for additional certifications aligned with your role. Are you ready to embrace this challenge?

As an Associate Professional Services Consultant, you will partner with customers and AWS teams to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address business problems. You will act as a trusted advocate for customers, helping them understand best practices and migrate workloads to the cloud. You will also help develop strategies to increase AWS usage within organizations.

The program offers specialization in areas such as:

  1. DevOps Specialist - Building advanced, scalable, and economical systems using CI/CD pipelines and cloud computing.
  2. Cloud Infrastructure Architect - Expertise in cloud networking and system rollouts, including network performance, infrastructure provisioning, and APIs.
  3. Application Developer - Designing cloud-native applications across platforms like virtualized instances, containers, or serverless architectures.
  4. Data & Analytics - Supporting data services and leveraging Machine Learning/AI for business insights.
  5. Security Consultant - Enabling security practices using AWS services such as IAM, GuardDuty, Shield, KMS, CloudTrail, CloudHSM, and Inspector.

About AWS: AWS values diverse experiences and encourages candidates to apply even if they do not meet all listed qualifications. We believe in continuous learning, inclusion, mentorship, and work-life balance, fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.

Basic qualifications include a degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, programming skills or interest, and effective communication skills. Preferred qualifications include adaptability to new technologies, experience with networking, databases, SDLC, infrastructure as code, and familiarity with AWS services.

Amazon is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, welcoming applications from all backgrounds, including South African citizens and individuals with disabilities. Applicants must be authorized to work in South Africa and submit relevant identification documents.
