Interwaste, a leader in waste management solutions across Southern Africa, is seeking a seasoned Workshop Service Advisor to join our team at the Germiston branch.

Role Overview

The Service Advisor is the primary point of contact for service customers, acting as a liaison between internal and external customers. This role is ideal for an operational-minded professional with a passion for people, processes, and policies, and a proven track record of operational success. Key Responsibilities
  1. Operations
  2. Welcome and assist customers professionally and courteously.
  3. Accurately record customer and vehicle details, including concerns and service requirements.
  4. Coordinate between technicians and customers to ensure smooth communication.
  5. Provide cost estimates, explain service details, and obtain approvals.
  6. Monitor job progress and keep customers informed.
  7. Handle after-service follow-ups and resolve queries efficiently.
  8. Prepare transparent estimates, including parts and labor costs.
  9. Ensure all vehicle and customer information is correctly recorded.
  10. Obtain customer authorization before starting work.
  11. Maintain open communication throughout the service process.
  12. Update the AMS system with vehicle service and repair details.
  13. Present final invoices clearly explaining all charges.
  14. Ensure no financial accruals for the department and manage stock take processes.
  15. Record keeping of all processes, vehicle KM's, and service intervals.

  2. Promote and adhere to the company's Zero Harm policy.
  3. Comply with all health & safety requirements in line with company policies.
  4. Work within ISO frameworks and client-specific requirements.
  5. Uphold SHEQ policies and maintain site SHEQ files.

  2. Maintain an ethical, honest, and transparent work environment.
  3. Communicate professionally and enforce company policies and procedures.
  4. Promote the Code of Ethics: Integrity, Objectivity, Confidentiality, and Competence.
  5. Manage disciplinary matters and ensure staff training per SLA and OSHA requirements.

  2. Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  3. Communicate regularly with clients and understand their needs.
  4. Notify superiors of relevant issues promptly.
  5. Handle personnel matters and keep management informed of staff-related issues.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent financial acumen, invoicing, and cost control skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Organizational and administrative abilities, with data integrity focus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (intermediate level).
  • Valid driver’s license, own transport, and flexibility to travel.
