A reputable engineering firm is seeking an experienced Electrical QC Controller to join their team in a site-based role.
This position requires a qualified electrician with solid EC&I experience, a strong understanding of QA / QC processes, and the ability to ensure electrical installations meet industry and project standards.
Please note : A valid driver's licence and own vehicle are essential to travel to and from the office.
A company vehicle will be provided during working hours for travel between project sites.
Key Responsibilities : Conduct inspections and sign-offs for tray work routing, tray bonding, and cable strapping (including spacing, neatness, and UV suitability)
Inspect and verify correct gland sizing, selection, and installation
Perform visual checks on electrical and instrumentation terminations (motors, instruments, marshaling panels, etc.
Execute QC testing (continuity, insulation resistance, torque checks) and coordinate final sign-offs
Complete all QC documentation, ensure proper sign-off, and upload to the project server
Maintain accurate redline drawings and ensure all site progress photos are stored appropriately
Participate in client walkdowns and QC inspections
Address punch list items in collaboration with supervisors and the close-out team
Support the compilation of handover packs and project data books
Attend site meetings requiring QC input
Ensure compliance with SANS standards, project specifications, and internal installation protocols
Minimum Requirements : Trade-tested Red Seal Electrician with at least 5 years' installation experience
Minimum of 3 years in a QC Controller role within EC&I construction or commissioning
Experience with SANS -1 and working knowledge of instrumentation and cable schedules
Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and file management systems
Registration as an Installation Electrician is advantageous
Previous involvement in medium to large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects
