Kenvue is currently recruiting for: Corporate Affairs Senior Manager - SSA. This position reports to the RAMET Director of Corporate Affairs and is based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Role reports to: RAMET Director of Corporate Affairs

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Travel %: 20%

What you will do

The Corporate Affairs Senior Manager for SSA will develop and implement strategies to shape public policy and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams in these markets.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Development and Execution: Establish, execute, and manage a corporate affairs strategy to optimize stakeholder engagement, ensuring access to personal health products and solutions.
  2. Local Advocacy and Engagement: Lead advocacy strategies and drive impact through employee engagement and external stakeholder strategies.
  3. Strategic Communication: Develop communication plans to shape the external environment, engage third parties, and enhance trust and reputation.
  4. Horizon Scanning and Insights: Connect the business with policy trends and opportunities to inform strategy.
  5. Content Management and Communication: Build content, vet inquiries, draft key documents, and review external content, providing strategic counsel.
  6. Country Leadership: Contribute to strategic decision-making at the country level.
  7. Strategic Integration: Embed external assessments and stakeholder engagement into business planning.
  8. Opportunity Identification: Collaborate with leaders to identify policy and public health opportunities.
  9. Business Alignment: Ensure priorities reflect business objectives.
  10. Policy and Stakeholder Guidance: Provide input on company strategies related to external policy forces.
  11. Trade Association Management: Lead trade association activities, ensuring alignment and ROI.
  12. Stakeholder Network: Cultivate key external relationships.
  13. Compliance: Ensure adherence to policies, laws, and requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 years in government affairs/public policy.
  • Experience in political, legislative, or public sector, with corporate experience in a multinational.
  • Experience in high-stakes, complex situations.
  • Background in Consumer Healthcare (strongly desired).
  • Crisis and reputation management expertise.
  • Innovative, agile mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Digital proficiency and tech-enabled solutions experience.
  • Deep understanding of political decision-making and external environments.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional strategy experience.
  • Ability to build trust with corporate and government leaders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in matrix structures.
  • Analytical skills for policy assessment and insight conveyance.
  • Project management skills for complex initiatives.
  • Languages: Fluent in English; French is a plus.
