This role involves planning and executing comprehensive external communication strategies, managing corporate media relations, and addressing reputational risks. This role is responsible for planning and executing external communication strategies to promote, strengthen, and protect the reputation of the Group and its brands across South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.
The position supports corporate communications, media relations, and broader marketing initiatives while managing reputational risk and strategic messaging.Key Responsibilities : Develop and manage corporate communication and media relations strategies.Monitor and address challenges in the automotive sector, identifying communication opportunities and risks.Manage the Group's corporate social media strategy using media content and social listening insights.Identify and implement strategic partnerships and sponsorships with key media, influencers, and entities.Manage reputational incidents and crisis communication plans.Create executive-level content and thought leadership materials.Develop and execute media strategies and tactical plans for corporate announcements and events.Write and distribute effective corporate media releases.Coordinate media training for senior management and executives.Provide strategic media relations support to build a cohesive and strong Pan-African corporate narrative.QualificationsBachelors degree in Communications, Journalism or related fieldExperience needed8-10 years of work experience in communication with extensive experience in corporate communications and media relationsEssential : Proven Leadership experienceProven record of developing and executing effective corporate communication and media relations strategiesKnowledge of the Communication and Media Channels with strong networking abilitiesExperience in interacting with stakeholders in government, the private sector, and mediaExperience in interacting with Executives at a strategic levelExcellent writing, verbal and interpersonal skillsStrong media relations and crisis communication experienceStrategic thinking and planning skillsProject ManagementNegotiation skills and budget management
