Responsibilities

Strategy Input and Execution

  • Provide strategic input and ensure execution of regional Postpaid and Residential sales strategies in line with the overall consumer segment and channel goals. This includes strengthening customer segmentation strategy by integrating on-the-ground insights into customer needs, providing valuable feedback to the Regional SM and Marketing Managers.
  • Identify opportunities for growth in the postpaid and residential segment and implement relevant strategies. Support SME sales in segmented clusters through dedicated initiatives and focused efforts within Experience Centres.
  • Collaborate with central sales and dealer teams to align on sales strategies and execution, providing feedback to ensure alignment of market initiatives with postpaid targets.
  • Execute Channel and Channel Expansion strategies for onboarding new channel partners.
  • Ensure regional area segment alignment with national strategies, governance, and risk management frameworks.

Regional Postpaid Sales Operations Delivery

  • Lead a team to effectively execute on consumer postpaid and residential segment sales strategies, ensuring achievement of sales and revenue targets.
  • Supervise and guide Store Supervisors for Experience Centres (owned stores) to drive innovation and sales within the owned stores in the region / sub-region.
  • Collaborate with Regional Network Team to ensure network availability and performance in the segmented cluster.
  • Manage interlocks between the cluster & central key account teams for partner management.
  • Ensure the daily operations of Owned-Experience Centers / Stores function effectively to drive sales, service excellence, and compliance through collaborative management with senior store supervisors.
  • Strengthen partnerships with segmented cluster channel partners and experience center dealers.
  • Monitor channel partner performance and ensure alignment with business goals. Manage partnerships with regional channel partners and experience center dealers for improved collaboration.
  • Develop and oversee channel expansion initiatives to enhance regional coverage.
  • Understand channel policies and procedures, enabling the execution of Channel Expansion strategies for onboarding new partners.
  • Implement initiatives from Governance forums in Commercial Operations to drive channel innovation, data-driven decision-making, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct reporting for postpaid / area of responsibility, including tracking sales trends and highlighting deviations from performance metrics.
  • Review team performance against KPIs and develop improvement plans where gaps are identified.
  • Act as the Voice of MTN in segmented clusters for strategic engagement with local governments, municipalities, and communities.

Financial Management and Cost Control

  • Provide input into regional budgets, ensuring alignment with consumer regional objectives.
  • Drive P&L accountability within the segment.
  • Manage investments in Channel Partners to ensure effectiveness and ROI, supporting long-term market growth.
  • Manage project budgets in line with business objectives.
  • Monitor costs and implement initiatives to optimize resources, maximizing cost/benefit ratios.
  • Identify opportunities to generate additional revenue.

Governance, Policies and Procedures

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, processes, and procedures, implementing effective standards.
  • Drive risk management, compliance, and governance within channel partners and Experience Centres.
  • Implement checks and balances to ensure consistent delivery within the segment.
  • Monitor sales processes and programmes to prevent fraud and organized crime, achieving growth and risk mitigation.
  • Participate in governance forums, providing strategic and operational input.
  • Manage escalations affecting service delivery, setting mitigation actions.
  • Review key risks and dependencies, proactively managing impacts on resources, costs, and productivity.
  • Promote best practices, continuous improvement, and innovation in processes and procedures.
  • Create and monitor plans for ongoing improvement and service delivery enhancement.

People and Culture Management

  • Set goals for the team to build a high-performing organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff, partners, and vendors.
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent, identifying future leaders.

Qualifications

Education :

  • 4-year tertiary qualification in relevant or related field

Experience :

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in postpaid sales, residential sales, and channel expansion.
  • Proven success in driving sales plans and managing dealer relationships.
  • Experience with indirect channel partner investments and oversight.
  • Strong background in compliance and governance in sales operations.
  • Experience working across diverse cultures and geographies is advantageous.
