Job description

Our client, a prominent retail group headquartered in the Western Cape, has provided exceptional services in the realm of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) since their establishment. Join them in their journey to create meaningful experiences for both their team members and valued customers. Our client is recruiting for an experienced Bakery Manager to join their team based in Gugulethu and Khayelitsha stores.

Job Purpose

To create and maintain a fully functioning, profitable Bakery Department and promote excellent customer service and communication. Responsible for the full management of the bakery department and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Produce top quality products in a hygienic environment – NOT NEGOTIABLE.
  2. Meet customer needs with a smiling face; always prioritize the customer.
  3. Manage all customer questions and concerns effectively.
  4. Ensure bakery staff adhere to all customer service requirements.
  5. Utilize customer suggestions and complaints to meet their needs.
  6. Increase customer and bulk customer numbers for the department.
  7. Plan daily and monthly bakery operations.
  8. Receive stock and ensure cutting, packing, and merchandising meet company standards and policies.
  9. Participate in sales and marketing of the bakery department.
  10. Plan, organize, and participate in promotional activities.
  11. Manage departmental costing.
  12. Minimize wastage and shrinkage.
  13. Schedule staff according to procedures.
  14. Induct and train new staff to the expected standards.
  15. Address performance and personnel issues promptly.
  16. Meet performance targets set by Senior Store Management.
  17. Ensure compliance with company rules, regulations, policies, and hygiene standards.
  18. Maintain departmental cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
  19. Adhere to security measures and procedures.

Salary: Market related

Working Hours: Monday to Sunday shifts
