Job Description
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the company's and group's financial operations, ensuring that all financial strategies align with the overall business objectives.
This individual will be responsible for financial planning, risk management, and the preparation of accurate financial reports, while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and internal controls.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Lead the alignment of financial strategies with business objectives.
- Financial Performance Monitoring: Monitor the company's financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to top management for informed decision-making. Oversee the timely submission of financial reports to regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow forecasts and ensure the availability of funds to meet operational and capital needs.
- Cost Control & Optimization: Collaborate with production and operations teams to develop cost-effective financial strategies within the manufacturing process. Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, including tax laws and industry-specific requirements. Liaise with external auditors and ensure the integrity of internal controls.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate financial results and forecasts to top management, providing clear recommendations and actionable insights. Liaise with external stakeholders, such as banks, insurers, and auditors, to maintain strong financial relationships. Supervise and mentor junior finance team members, fostering a collaborative environment and encouraging ongoing education about industry trends and financial best practices.
Educational & Experience Requirements
- Grade 12
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the manufacturing or steel industry
Skills & Competencies
- Solid understanding of the steel manufacturing process, cost structures, and capital expenditures
- Strong experience in financial analysis, reporting, and cash flow management in high-volume, cost-sensitive environments
- Proficiency with financial software (e.g., Pastel Evolution, Microsoft Office)
- Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and financial regulations relevant to manufacturing
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
