We're seeking a commercially sharp and technically fluent leader to head our Oil & Gas sector across Africa. Someone who understands the full energy lifecycle, the emerging regulatory landscape, and how to turn customer challenges into tailored solutions that create value and long-term partnerships.

What You'll Do
- Sector Strategy & Thought Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the Oil & Gas sector strategy in Africa. Identify trends and opportunities across LNG, refining, FPSO, offshore, and onshore operations. Promote flare gas to power and emissions-reduction initiatives as part of Aggreko's decarbonization offer. Drive alignment with Africa's energy transition roadmap and client ESG priorities.
- Strategic Engagement with IOCs, NOCs & EPCs: Build and maintain high-level relationships with senior decision-makers across key accounts. Establish Aggreko as a preferred partner by understanding complex project dynamics and procurement models. Unlock new partnerships through existing networks in major IOCs and NOCs.
- Commercial Growth & Value Proposition Development: Own the go-to-market sector plan and sales strategy. Shape and evolve bespoke value propositions for O&G clients—balancing uptime, fuel efficiency, emissions, and cost. Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to co-develop integrated energy solutions. Support country teams to build pipelines and close high-value deals. Lead large, complex pursuits, often involving hybrid or fuel-flexible power. Identify flare gas and stranded gas applications as scalable business models across regions.
- Sector Enablement & Knowledge Transfer: Act as an internal advisor and coach to commercial teams across Africa. Drive sector capability-building through training, workshops, and playbook development. Foster a knowledge-sharing culture that enhances Aggreko's sector reputation and responsiveness.
- Reporting & Governance: Own sector reporting including pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and strategic account performance. Monitor regulatory changes, sector risks, and pricing trends. Ensure compliance with policies, HSE standards, and ethical frameworks.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, energy-related services
- Deep understanding of the O&G value chain, from upstream to refining and logistics
- Proven success in business development and sales in Africa
- Track record of managing large-scale commercial relationships and deals
- Experience in energy transition initiatives (flare gas, hybrid, battery integration)
- Strong network across IOCs, NOCs, and EPCs in Africa
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to operate as an individual, team leader, and team member in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
- Fluent in English; additional languages such as French, Portuguese, and Arabic are advantageous
Education
Science Degree coupled with a business qualification.
