A leading insurance brokerage in Cape Town is seeking a Personal Lines Underwriter to provide effective underwriting services. The successful candidate will ensure client satisfaction, meet business targets, and adhere to company processes. Qualifications

• 3 years experience in a client services environment.
• 3 years experience as a Personal Lines Underwriter.

Job description

Provide stakeholders with effective and efficient personal lines underwriting services according to the required standards and procedures in order toretain existing clients and secure new business in support of the business strategy.

• Ensure new business targets are met
• Ensure Binder fees targets are met
• Ensure retention of existing clients
• Ensure and contribute to minimization of general expenses

Client :

• Ensure that all stakeholder (e.g. clients AEs insurers) communication is accurate timeous professional and relevant
• Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure and contribute to achieving own and company required client satisfaction targets

Business Processes :

• Adhere to company processes service level agreements quality assurance targets and broader regulatory frameworks wrt the following processes (but not limited to) :

General Enquiries such as but not limited to cover products processes etc

• New Business Renewals Endorsements and Rebroke
• Request obtain and assess quotes from insurers
• Request obtain and / or provide clients with all required information and / or documents
• Arrange valuations and reinsurance
• File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy
• Upsell cover to clients where appropriate

Follow retention processes

• Cancel the policy on the system
• Confirm cancellation request with the client
• File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy
• Refunds
• Request refunds from line manager electronically
• File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy
• Adhere to company mandates
• Participate and contribute in ad hoc projects
• Report any suspected fraud misrepresentation and / or dishonesty
• Keep accurate record of own activities

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Skills :

• Matric or equivalent
• FAIS Recognized Qualification
• Computer Literate

Minimum Experience :

• 3years experience working in a client services environment
• 3 years experience as a Personal Lines Underwriter
