Senior Financial & Management Accountant (Contract)

Area: Montague Gardens, Cape Town

Employment Type: Maternity Contract

Salary: Negotiable up to R75,000 per month

The candidate will be responsible for managing financial and accounting operations, including budget planning, compliance, and reporting. They will support senior management by providing insights and financial advice to facilitate optimal business decisions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Accurate and timely completion of monthly management results, forecasts, annual budgets, and corporate financial reporting.
• Provide hands-on management and leadership to the finance team.
• Analyze financial, product, margin, and profitability data.
• Develop and maintain financial models, management reports, and oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Lead change initiatives and re-engineer processes to enhance growth and performance.
• Improve efficiencies through process and reporting standardization.
• Partner with senior management and stakeholders to improve financial performance.
• Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on reconciling items.
• Assist in the development and implementation of SAP and other ERP systems, ensuring business requirements are met.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and annual reports.
• Assess Capex budgets versus actuals and optimize ROIC.
• Manage reporting accuracy and ensure on-time submissions.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and group reporting standards.
• Review and support payment releases in line with finance timelines.
• Provide front-end support for QlikView and coordinate with consultants for report corrections and updates.

Essential Technical Competencies:

• Finance-related degree with a professional qualification.
• Bachelor's degree in Business or Commerce.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial and financial roles, preferably within manufacturing or FMCG sectors.
• Experience in project management and business analysis within medium to large organizations.
• Proven track record in driving continuous improvement.
• Experience with Syspro, SAP, Excel, Essbase, and BI reporting tools.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
