Purpose of Job

To provide complete project supervision services related to building construction projects undertaken by Sasol Energy – Mobility Solutions- Retail Network Development Department. Responsibilities include advising on construction projects, maintaining control over operational and capital expenditure, reducing costs without compromising quality, and ensuring adherence to safety practices and Sasol governance policies.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Assist construction consultants with design layouts ensuring conformity with Sasol standards.
  2. Provide cost-related information to support project estimates.
  3. Ensure timely submission of plans and proposals to authorities and monitor approval processes.
  4. Supply technical requirements to architects and engineers for project documentation.
  5. Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors on Bill of Quantities and cost estimates.
  6. Provide layout and installation requirements for pumps, tanks, and compressed air systems.
  7. Inform project development managers about pre-tender progress and schedules.
  8. Supervise all construction activities, ensuring standards, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  9. Coordinate with contractors, monitor onsite activities, and manage project timelines.
  10. Facilitate procurement processes and contractor appointments.
  11. Manage variations, evaluate costs, and assess impacts on budgets and schedules.
  12. Monitor expenditure, prepare reports, and update progress charts and cash flows.
  13. Attend site and design meetings regularly.
  14. Inspect works to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with policies.
  15. Conduct snagging inspections and oversee remedial works upon project completion.
Formal Education

BSc/BTech in Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or related construction degree.

Min Experience

6+ years in the construction industry.
