Job description

Leading distribution company requires a demand planner to analyze and coordinate the ongoing logistical functions of an organization. Responsible for the entire life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal of resources

POSITION INFO :

• Develop effective forecast models based on trends and demand patterns.
• Calculate stock volume requirements according to minimum order quantities, stock-on-hand, promotional requirements, price increases, best delivery practice etc.
• Propose and implement solutions and inventory estimations to Management.
• Place and follow up on stock ordered with suppliers to minimise lost sales and avoid stock outages.
• Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to Management and get approval.
• Liaise with receiving regarding slot times, discrepancies, stock not ordered, short-supplied stock, bookings etc.
• Identify and report overstocks together with support to sales team in regard to exit strategy.
• Identify and report short-dated and expired stock. Either IBT it to another DC or liaise with sales department to sell.
• Assist with queries regarding PO’s & GRV (receiving department).
• Fill in for team members on leave.
• Computer literate with advanced excel skills.
• Master Data buying management .
• Monthly reports on Qlikview, forecasts.
• Master Data Clean up weekly via Qlikview.
• Managing the Qlikview classifications by ensuring that obsolete and excess stock is reduced and the correct holding for good stock is optimised.
