Your day at NTT DATA

The Cloud Technical Architect is a seasoned subject matter expert responsible for designing, and potentially implementing, cloud-based solutions that meet client’s business and technical requirements.

This role supports sales teams by providing expertise in cloud computing technologies and architectures, ensuring the effective design, deployment, and operation of our cloud-based systems to meet client needs.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, ensuring solutions meet their objectives.
• Design and architect cloud-based systems focusing on high availability, scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Assess existing systems and develop migration strategies for transitioning on-premises applications to the cloud.
• Design integration solutions for seamless data flow between cloud and on-premises environments.
• Define and enforce security best practices and compliance standards for cloud systems.
• Develop and maintain cloud governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Guide development teams to adhere to cloud architecture standards and best practices.
• Create technical design documents aligned with solution specifications.
• Participate in scope of work determination, product pricing, and RFP/RFI responses with internal stakeholders.
• Assist in outsourcing decisions, product pricing, and developing implementation solutions.
• Manage client proof of concept (POC) initiatives, including setup and delivery.
• Own proposed solutions on engagements and transition builds to delivery teams.
• Act as a subject matter expert on cloud technologies and architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals.

Knowledge and Attributes :

• Strong client engagement skills with technical consulting expertise.
• Deep understanding of vendor products and their positioning.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Broad product knowledge integrated with technology understanding.
• Extensive knowledge of cloud architecture patterns, including microservices, serverless, containers, and hybrid cloud.
• Proficiency in cloud infrastructure technologies like VMs, storage, networking, and load balancing.
• In-depth understanding of cloud security, IAM, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud design patterns, including hybrid and microservices architectures.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or other cloud providers and their services.
• Understanding of cloud networking, VPNs, VPCs, and hybrid connectivity.
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS.
• Experience with cloud storage solutions and databases.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, etc.
• Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of integration technologies and vendor subscription models.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications :

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or related field.
• Certifications in Enterprise Architecture (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
• Experience with programming languages like C++ is advantageous.
• SAFe Agile certification is a plus.

Required Experience :

• Extensive professional experience in large-scale, preferably multinational, technology services environments.
• Proven experience as a Cloud Technical Architect or similar role, designing and implementing complex cloud architectures.
• Experience with major cloud platforms and serverless computing.
• Experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
