Job description

ANEW Resort White River is seeking a dynamic Sous Chef. The individual will be responsible for the overall management of all food production areas (kitchens) within the hotel. Responsibilities include menu planning, stock control, purchasing, maintaining hygiene standards, staff coordination, and resource management to ensure efficient, well-prepared, and profitable food service that meets the hotel’s standards.

The successful candidate will be based in Mpumalanga, White River.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Culinary Certificate or Hospitality Management Diploma (advantageous)
  • At least 3 years of experience in a 4-star hospitality property
  • Minimum 18 months of management or supervisory experience
  • Standards and quality-oriented mindset
  • Good knowledge of food trends and inventory management
  • High level of customer service, numeracy skills, discipline, organization, attention to detail, and deadline-driven with cost control skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English and either IsiZulu or IsiXhosa (advantageous)
  • Self-motivated and ambitious
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
