PROCUREMENT EXECUTIVE

(Longmeadow, Johannesburg)

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the person in this position will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing activities of the organization, ensuring cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining quality and supplier relationships.

Key Accountabilities

1. Supplier management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and maintain strong relationships. This includes assessing supplier performance and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
2. Contract negotiation: Negotiate agreements with suppliers to achieve the best pricing and terms, aligning procurement activities with the organization’s strategic goals.
3. Procurement strategy development: Develop and implement procurement policies and strategies that enhance efficiency and support operational and business development objectives.
4. Market analysis: Conduct market trend research and identify potential suppliers locally and internationally to ensure optimal value for purchases.
5. Inventory management: Track inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid shortages.
6. Reporting and documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance, and prepare management reports, including all Puratos reporting.

Job Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, CPIM, or a related field; certification in Strategic Procurement is an advantage.
• Experience: 5–10 years in procurement or supply chain management within FMCG.
• Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
