Job description

Functional Outputs
  • Comply with all customer rules and procedures when operating at customer sites.
  • Assist the Explosives Controller in conducting routine fault finding, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on the MMU process plant and chassis.
  • Assist the Site Administrator with stock control.
  • Load and unload the MMU with the correct raw materials.
  • Unload raw materials (emulsion matrix and expan tankers).
  • Perform cleaning and decontamination of the MMU.
  • Identify any abnormal conditions on the MMU and within the work area and report them to the Explosives Controller and/or Site Supervisor.
  • Maintain ownership of the bulk explosives MMU by practicing good housekeeping of the cab, chassis, and plant.
  • Minimize and clean up any raw material spillage and dispose of waste properly.
  • Ensure the correct PPE is used, is in good condition, and is worn correctly at all times.
  • Maintain housekeeping of the work area.
  • Identify workplace hazards and risks and address them appropriately (HIRA & Risk Assessment).
  • Have knowledge of relevant hand tools.
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures.
  • Comply with mine safety and health procedures.
  • Attend mine induction training.
  • Maintain awareness of basic safety, health, and environmental issues.
  • Assess product application practices.
  • Identify incorrect product application practices.
  • Demonstrate and coach correct practices.
