Introduction

Responsibilities
  1. Drive, resource, and support the academic strategy and outcomes in the planning and direction of the JBS teaching and learning strategy, including developing and managing relevant programme qualification mixes, such as short learning and executive programs.
  2. Lead the academic faculty team and collaborate with the Dean to provide professional development plans for faculty members.
  3. Ensure compliance with all teaching and learning policies, procedures, and frameworks, including Higher Degrees policies and programme standing orders.
  4. Represent JBS on university committees and chair the JBS Teaching and Learning Committee.
  5. Coordinate with programme managers to schedule and timetable according to workload models.
  6. Support the Dean in aligning academic programme management and delivery with strategic objectives.
  7. Develop marketing plans in collaboration with the Marketing Department to attract new students.
  8. Monitor lecturer deliverables and ensure high student satisfaction.
  9. Build relationships with international business schools to provide students access to global networks.
  10. Arrange extracurricular activities like webinars and guest lectures.
  11. Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards in academic design and development.
  12. Collaborate with the Dean and Financial Business Partner to prepare and manage the annual budget for academic programmes.
  13. Oversee the integration of emerging technologies in online, distance, and blended learning environments.
  14. Review quarterly financial reports to inform strategic decisions and approve procurement transactions.
  15. Review and approve contracts for academic staff and contractors necessary for programme delivery.
Minimum Requirements
  • A recognised Master's degree.
  • At least five years of management experience at a director level, preferably within higher education or a business school.
  • Knowledge and experience with business school programs and academic thought leadership.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and think critically.
  • Three to five years' experience supervising online Master's candidates.
