An outstanding opportunity for an ambitious entry-level finance professional seeking international exposure within a leading multinational Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company. The Commercial Finance Analyst will support the Africa region, working on prominent, globally recognized brands and contributing to the success of a thriving region.

The incumbent will serve as a financial business partner, delivering essential support and analytical insights to the local business team in close collaboration with Marketing and Commercial functions. Responsibilities include partnering cross-functionally to inform business decisions and shape the strategic trajectory in alignment with our long-term strategy. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the role offers invaluable experience in a fast-paced international setting.

This role is 4 days a week out of our office in Cape Town and 1 at home.

What You Can Expect

  1. Deliver Impactful Reporting & Analysis: Provide accurate, timely, and insightful monthly and ad-hoc financial reports and analyses to support the team's strategic decision-making.

  2. Planning & Closing Processes: Efficiently manage data input for planning cycles (forecasts, budgets, IBP, etc.) and contribute to the smooth execution of monthly financial closing, maintaining data integrity, conducting variance analysis, and managing reporting functions.

  3. Optimize P&L Performance: Conduct thorough monthly reviews, in-depth analyses, and effective controlling of key P&L items, ensuring accurate financial reporting and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  4. Communicate Financial Performance: Assist in the preparation of presentations providing compelling monthly local financial results and business updates, effectively communicating key insights.

  5. Budget Tracking: Maintain detailed budget tracking records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for all budget line items.

  6. Operational Support: Conduct ad-hoc analyses, manage special projects, and provide support to the Africa Team. Support the Senior Finance Manager with daily Finance department activities.

What You Bring to the Table

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance & Accounting or Newly Qualified CA.

  2. Minimum of one year of finance experience within a multinational consumer packaged goods (CPG) company or equivalent. Fluency in English (written and verbal).

  3. Strong financial acumen and analytical capabilities.

  4. Proficiency in accounting, budgeting, and valuation software (MS Office, SAP including Business Warehouse/BI).

  5. Advanced Excel skills.

  6. Strong desire for professional development in an international environment.
