A leading company in South Africa is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to manage stock control, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and foster positive stakeholder relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience in warehouse operations, focusing on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees and manages weekly stock cycle counts and monthly stocktakes across departments. They ensure the application of FIFO and Line of Sight principles in storage and issuing of stock, investigate and resolve stock variances and exceptions, and continuously review and improve stock control procedures to enhance efficiency and minimize risk.
Key responsibilities include coordinating with planning teams to verify goods received and issued, ensuring accurate coding and placement of incoming stock, proper handling of non-conforming and scrap products, and monitoring damaged stock in work-in-progress areas with corrective actions. The supervisor also ensures compliance with consignment stock procedures, creates and maintains work instructions, and stays updated on inventory control best practices.
The role involves maintaining accurate inventory data in SAP and related systems, processing credit notes and return rotations, monitoring operational spreadsheets, and ensuring timely ordering of supplies. The supervisor must complete health and safety checklists, operate within company policies, proactively identify risks, and ensure adherence to legal, financial, and safety regulations.
Fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, representing the company professionally, addressing customer issues promptly, and maintaining high satisfaction levels are essential aspects of the role.
The supervisor ensures team members have current performance agreements, conducts performance appraisals, collaborates with HR on training needs, handles employee relations fairly, and supports staff development.
The role includes assisting in budget preparation, promoting resource efficiency, monitoring expenses, tracking budget variances, and proposing cost control actions.
