Business Analyst

An exciting opportunity has become available. OneCart is looking to hire a Business Analyst who will be responsible for analysing a company's financial and business risk position and recommending relevant policy actions by collecting, mining, monitoring, and studying data.

Responsible for determining the potential consequences of performing business actions.

Core Activities & Accountabilities

1. Contributes to shareholder value by delivering on business financial performance by minimising business risk.
2. Responsible for analysing, monitoring and reconciling agreed card transactions.
3. Identifying fraud, analysing/investigating fraudulent activities, managing fraud, and communicating any business risk to the Head of Finance and relevant management.
4. Verifying payments, processed refunds, and establishing trends of fraudulent activities as directed by the Head of Finance.
5. Collecting financial data to determine possible losses and gains related to ongoing business operations or new projects as directed by the Head of Finance.
6. Identifying areas of weakness and providing recommendations to management to improve business processes by providing solutions.
7. Documenting business processes and requirements.
8. Automating business processes.
9. Analysing data to understand potential risks, concerns, and outcomes of decisions.
10. Creating reports, summaries, presentations, and process documents to display results.
11. Distributing business risk reports to the Head of Finance and Management.
12. Evaluating business and finance records to determine the level of risk as directed by the Head of Finance.
13. Monitoring internal and external data points that may affect the risk level of a decision.
14. Identifying economic and financial trends that may present a risk to the company as directed by the Head of Finance.
15. Analysing and evaluating the company's current business processes and identifying areas of improvement.
16. Researching and reviewing up-to-date business processes and new IT advancements to modernise systems.
17. Presenting ideas and findings in meetings.
18. Training and coaching OneCart members on financial risk.
19. Creating initiatives depending on the business's requirements and needs.
20. Developing projects and monitoring project performance.
21. Collaborating with different users and stakeholders to mitigate risk.
22. Preparing reports on financial and risk performance to Massmart.
23. Sharing effective business processes.
24. Designing, creating, analysing, and preparing financial and risk reports.
25. Distributing risk reports to the Head of Finance and relevant departments.
26. Designing and creating risk dashboards for the OneCart team.
27. Automating risk reports and dashboards.
28. Providing input into monthly financial reporting and analysis.
29. Maintaining a positive attitude.
30. Taking ownership of driving your career development (skills and knowledge).
31. Planning and prioritising, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands to achieve agreed deliverables.
32. Communicating effectively and maintaining relationships.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

BCom in Finance or bachelor's degree and relevant business experience in the related field. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Business or Financial Analysis. Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations. Experience leading and developing top-performing teams. Experience in leading and supporting successful projects.
