Job Description

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Services Manager in its Commercial Division. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Services Engineer: GMR2. The ideal candidate must be in possession of an Electrical Engineering NQF Level 7 qualification and 5-8 years’ experience. Medium Voltage Switching accreditation will be an added advantage. This position carries a TASK grade of T13.

Responsibilities

1. Manage and perform root cause analysis on recurring breakdowns and implement measures to eliminate reoccurrences.
2. Establish and maintain a safe work environment, specifically where machinery is involved.
3. Connect and upgrade new versions and revisions of software and test functionality before commissioning.
4. Adhere to GMP requirements in terms of FSSC 22000.
5. Manage accurate recording of breakdowns.
6. Draw up task clarifications of proposed projects involving changes to plant utilization and/or new equipment.
7. Update maintenance schedules and report weekly on completed, pending, and outstanding maintenance.
8. Ensure all electrical work complies with SANS Standards for installation work.
9. Complete critical analysis regarding safety operating procedures.
10. Develop the electrical team and manage talent within the department.
