About the job Accountant - Premium Game Lodge - Rivonia

Our client, a premium game lodge, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to manage a comprehensive range of financial functions within the organization. This role includes overseeing the full bookkeeping process, preparing financial reports, and handling payroll operations. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with COIDA regulations and insurance policies, including annual reviews and renewals. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles to ensure the financial health and compliance of the lodge.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and oversee the activities of the bookkeeper/s.
  2. Oversee Daily Report: Balances, Incoming Payments, Transactional Activities and bank statements for on-site allocations.
  3. Up to Trial Balance: posting of debit orders, creditors, bank reconciliations, etc.
  4. Preparation of AFS and Audit Files for Annual Review.
  5. Preparation of monthly Management Accounts.
  6. Reconciliation of Loan Accounts.
  7. Submission of Monthly Reports to Directors / Shareholders.
  8. Preparation of monthly VAT submissions.
  9. VAT verifications from SARS, when required.
  10. Creditor reconciliations - between Head Office, On-site and Creditor.
  11. Management of Asset register.
  12. Debtor reconciliations with on-site staff, when required.
  13. Stock management assistance with on-site staff, when required.
  14. BBEEE oversee the preparation and submissions of necessary data and documentation.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  1. Degree in Accounting.
  2. 3 - 5 years' experience in hospitality.
  3. Proficiency in accounting software: Pastel, Xero & Sage.
  4. Registered with SAICA.
  5. Proficient with MS Office.
  6. Must have own transport.
  7. Bilingual (English / Afrikaans).
  8. Good time management and organizational skills.
  9. Stay up to date on accounting regulations and best practices.
  10. Participating in professional development activities.
