Introduction
Manages all aspects of hygiene and safety within the service areas. Manages stocks to maximize gross margins and profits. Ensures that operating standards are maintained.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working standards are maintained (floor and backup).
- Ensure security procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure merchandise/display standards are maintained.
- Conduct regular quality checks, ensure stock rotation, and remove damaged or expired stock to prevent wastage, shrinkage, and damages. Check that pricing labels are correct.
- Complete all administration accurately and on time.
- Analyze, maintain, and update relevant information/documentation; take necessary actions when required.
- Plan and implement sales promotions.
- Approach and advise customers on products; listen to customer requests and provide the required products or services.
- Monitor budgets and take necessary actions.
- Analyze department profitability and make recommendations or take actions accordingly.
- Optimize stock levels to ensure items are always in stock but not overstocked through effective ordering.
- Manage employees to ensure standards are maintained by competent, motivated staff.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Matriculated (attach certified copy to application).
- 2-3 years retail experience is advantageous.
- 1-3 years departmental manager experience.
- Sound numeracy skills and retail industry knowledge.
- Flexible and willing to be transferred between stores.
- Valid South African ID (attach copy).
- Valid Driver's license code 08 (attach certified copy).
- Ability to pass assessments at the required level.
- Succeed in at least 2 competency-based interviews.
