Our client is a leading player in the fintech industry is looking for an outstanding, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Financial Accountant to join their team.
What you'll do:
As a Financial Accountant, your role will be pivotal in managing the day-to-day financial accounting of some of the largest entities' bank accounts. You will be tasked with accessing multiple bank accounts to download statements, reconciling these accounts daily to our financial system, and ensuring intercompany transactions are accurately recorded. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in meeting month-end deadlines, escalating queries promptly, and driving efficiency in reporting. Additionally, you will assist with ongoing audits and clean-up projects from previous years.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accessing multiple bank accounts to download statements.
- Reconciling multi-currency accounts daily to our financial system (Xero/NetSuite).
- Intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Reconciling external reports to our financial system (Xero/NetSuite).
- Meeting month-end deadlines and reporting requirements.
- Accessing a wide range of data sources to ensure accurate reporting.
- Escalating and timely follow-ups on queries.
- Ensure integrity and consistency of data underlying reporting.
- Drive efficiency/automation of reporting and timeliness/availability of reports.
- Improve/develop reports that will be useful for the business in driving informed decision making.
- Other ad-hoc projects and/or support as needed.
- Assist with ongoing audits and prior year clean-up projects.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in finance.
- Finance degree or diploma.
- Experience working in emerging markets and in multi-currency environments.
- Experience in implementing process improvement.
- Proficiency in NetSuite is required.
- Proficiency in Xero is advantageous.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing or providing audit support.
- Experience working in fintech advantageous.
Desired skills:
- Superior communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- Relationship builder who is comfortable communicating with a wide variety of individuals from multiple countries.
- Ability to thrive under pressure.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Outlook.
- Ability to drive month-end close procedures to meet deadlines.
