Job description

Our client, a dynamic sports broadcaster, is looking for a Senior Broadcast Engineer to:

1. Plan, design, implement, manage, maintain, support, and operate live digital video broadcast delivery systems, including direct interconnects, RCN feeds, satellite distributions, broadcast systems, backhaul, and operation.
2. Report to key stakeholders related to live digital broadcasting and networking, ensuring all SLAs are met.

Duties & Responsibilities

In order to be considered, the following are required:

1. 10 years of experience in technical operations with operational involvement
2. 3 years of experience in technical operations with management involvement
3. 3 years of experience in development with operational involvement
4. Knowledge of common operating systems
5. Advanced numeric and statistical analysis skills (network metrics, VOD subscriber statistics)
6. Good understanding of linear headend and conditional access systems
7. Excellent understanding of streaming technologies such as HLS, RTMP, MS Smooth Streaming, Icecast, HTML5
8. Planning and organizing skills
9. Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
10. Knowledge of industry products and standards
11. Good verbal and written communication skills
12. Judgment and decision-making skills
13. Experience with DTH / IPTV / OTT / VOD / broadcasting, including linear content receipt technology and Play Through Advertising Servers
