Compensation Amount: $15.00 USD Hourly

Job Summary:

The Grill Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving food items on the grill, and coordinating with the Executive Chef on daily and special function menus.

Job Description:
  1. Set up, restock, and break down the grill station.
  2. Produce daily meal items and menu specials.
  3. Prepare specials, hot sandwiches, and sides for service.
  4. Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, and tasting meats, vegetables, and other grilled foods.
  5. Operate kitchen equipment for food preparation, including measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding food, as well as trimming and cutting meat and poultry.
  6. Report malfunctioning equipment to supervisors.
  7. Taste food, check menus, estimate requirements, and keep records to plan production.
  8. Manage food waste by recycling or disposing of excess food properly.
  9. Ensure cleanliness of all equipment and utensils used in the grill area.
  10. Maintain temperature logs and signage for the grill station.
  11. Stay aware of safety issues and report them immediately.
Skill and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Partial High School education required; High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Culinary knowledge.
  • Food Safety certification and strong sanitation habits.
  • Strong customer service skills; proactive in assisting customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to recognize problems and communicate with management.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Frequent movement within the work environment.
  • Bend, lift, carry, and reach above shoulder height regularly.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs regularly, 30-35 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Stand for the entire workday and climb stairs regularly.
  • Work in temperature extremes in freezer, refrigerator, and grill areas.
  • Read and write work-related documents in English.
  • Communicate verbally with clarity and understanding in English.
  • Physical presence at the job site is essential.
